Get a digital driving licence

Save a digital version of your driving licence on your phone with the GOV.UK One Login app.

Warning You can currently only get a digital driving licence if you’re taking part in the friends and family pilot.
This service is also available in Welsh (Cymraeg).

You’ll need:

  • the email address you used to sign up to the pilot
  • a driving licence issued in England, Scotland or Wales
  • a DVLA Driver and vehicles account - you can create an account when you continue if you do not already have one
  • the GOV.UK One Login app

To download the GOV.UK One Login app, you need either:

  • an iPhone running iOS 16.7 or higher
  • an Android phone (for example, a Samsung or Google Pixel) running Android 10 or higher
